If you have to scrub, repeatedly wipe the same contaminated area, or press harder to remove dirt, the vehicle probably needs a more thorough wash method.
How to reduce wash-induced marring
No wash method can eliminate every risk, but good technique can reduce unnecessary friction and keep dirty material from being dragged across the paint.
- Use the product at the manufacturer’s recommended dilution.
- Use plenty of clean microfiber towel surface or clean wash media.
- Turn or replace a towel as soon as the working face becomes dirty.
- Work one manageable section at a time.
- Avoid heavy pressure and repeated dry wiping.
- Dry with clean, absorbent microfiber rather than continuing to work a dirty towel over the panel.
- If the surface is too contaminated for the method, switch to a pre-rinse or conventional wash.
